Join us to raise vital funds for It's Okay, Not To Be Okay, and help make a difference in mental health awareness and support.

Why We Row

IT'S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY was started in 2016 by us three grieving sisters who lost our brother Ben to suicide. Our goals and mission are to reduce stigma, start conversations and provide practical support to those suffering mental ill health and grief and ultimately for suicide prevention.

IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY runs mental health presentations in schools, workplaces and sporting clubs, provides sponsorship of counselling sessions to ensure that those who are financially vulnerable are still able to access these vital services. For those bereaved by suicide, we provide resources and grief packs to help navigate this journey with support.

We know where there is deep grief, there was great love.

Along with our social media campaigns, these activities combine to increase mental health literacy and raise awareness about the support available directly to those that may need it along with their loved ones.

Funds are raised via community events as well as donations and the sale of merchandise bearing our name, IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY. Since starting in 2016 we have gifted 105 grief packs, run over 26 events, and sponsored $19,897.05 in counselling, however the need in the community has increased significantly so to meet this increased demand, we have sought and been endorsed as a DGR Registered Charity, so all donations are now tax deductible.

What to Expect

Registered participants will receive a detailed 'What to Expect' email two weeks prior to the event, outlining everything you need to know and bring to make it through the 24 hours.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with challenge, support, and community spirit. Let’s make a significant impact together!
